Dr. Shuaib Sani Shuaib is the Executive Director of Futuremap Foundation, the organisation behind Global Tech Africa. An emerging systems leader, he works at the intersection of strategic foresight, public health, youth leadership and civic innovation to advance inclusive development across Africa and the Global South.
Trained as a physiotherapist, he works as an epidemiologist and health economist in the development sector. He is an inaugural Future 50 Leader within the World Economic Forum's Global Foresight Network, has served as Curator of the Kano Hub of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community, and is the founder of Kano Chronicle.
At Futuremap, he leads the Future Tech Fellowship, which prepares young Africans for technology careers through skills training, industry exposure and job pathways. The fellowship has drawn more than 3,000 applicants from all 36 states of Nigeria, Ghana and Cameroon, and around 40% of its alumni have gone on to internships or jobs. “We are building careers, not just graduates,” he says.
