Dr. Haruna Musa is a seasoned Nigerian banker with over 27 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry. He was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jaiz Bank Plc effective 21 November 2023.
He holds a Bachelor of Agriculture from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Bayero University, Kano; and an MSc in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, United Kingdom. Jaiz Bank's appointment announcement also noted that he was at the final stage of a PhD programme in Islamic Banking and Finance at Universiti Utara Malaysia.
Before joining Jaiz Bank as MD/CEO, Dr. Musa spent over 22 years at Guaranty Trust Bank, where he served as an Executive Director for eight years and held senior leadership responsibilities across public-sector and regional banking operations. He has also completed executive leadership programmes at institutions including Wharton Business School, Harvard Business School, and Cranfield University.
